“Nothing that you have not given away will ever be really yours.” -CS Lewis

The world is so beautiful yet tragically there are so many overlooked, who feel hopeless. Sometimes when the weightiness of the world settles in our minds, we feel helpless and confused, and we struggle to understand how we can help. It’s so much easier to be comfortable, to be content with our circumstances and the settling schedule that keeps us in a safe mindset, a clear head.

That’s where we’ve been. But that’s not where we are going. We feel that God has called us to do something that really scares us and gives us joy; we have been led to do the World Race. (No, not the Amazing Race TV show, as many have asked!)

The World Race is an 11 month journey to 11 countries around the world where we simply get to befriend people across all nationalities and races, we get to preach the gospel and be the hands and feet of Jesus. We will be serving in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations. The countries we will be traveling to include: India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Botswana, Swaziland and South Africa.

God calls us all to be imitators of his merciful love, empty of all conditions, no matter the location or the person. Our locations of calling though, just happen to include travel and we are asking for your help. We wrote to you because we believe in our hearts that you have always been a supporter to us. We long for prayers of safety and of humility. To be prepared and to have the faith that we can jump into this calling and be financially prepared to do so. For both of us to enter the World Race, we must fundraise a total of $34,034 by January 1, 2017. It’s a lot. And at times it is daunting, however, we know that God wouldn’t call us to do something that could not be made possible. This money will cover all of our field expenses for the 11 months of the trip.

As we take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider doing a one-time donation or to join us at a $100 monthly donation or some other amount? Anything and everything helps. If you would like to meet up for coffee to discuss our trip, we would be more than happy to do so. We plan on calling and following up with anyone who has questions or would like to learn more about our trip. We are excited about having a support team that can be there for us as we transition to life on the field.

To donate to our trip and to also follow our journey with the World Race, visit our blog/support page at bryceandkimmywhittington.theworldrace.org to find out more! We have put our card with our blog URL into your envelope with hopes that you will keep it out as a reminder to pray for us, or to pass it on to a friend or your church family to see how they can help pray for us. We are so grateful for your support in our lives and we look forward to what this next year will look like!

But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.”

– Acts 20:24

Sincerely,

Bryce and Kimmy Whittington
