Wow, what a whirlwind these past couple of weeks have been! A little over a week ago, my squad and I said goodbye to our past year of community, travel, ministry and constant change and stepped into the familiar yet unknown and highly anticipated- HOME!
While many of my friends were preparing for whatever their next long-term plan is, I knew my visit home was short. And my goodness, did it go fast!
The to-do list was checked, I spent time with my beloved people and experienced all the comforts of being home. I spent time reflecting on the past year. Praising my God for using the World Race as a platform to truly grab ahold of my heart and teach me about service and intimacy with Him. My time has exceeded all of my expectations.
Even though short, re-entry back to the states hasn’t come without difficulty. The abrupt stop to community living, constant ministry and loss of consistency is a challenge. Choosing to walk in obedience to the Lord no matter the circumstance has continued to prove such an overwhelming peace and joy in my life.
Tomorrow I fly to Atlanta to launch for another 9 months as Squad Leader for World Race Gap Year. I can’t wait to see what the Lord has planned in this next season!
My new squad and I will be traveling to Swaziland, India, Nepal and Guatemala. We will be working alongside already established ministries as a short-term support and encouragement.
