I’m in a little coffee shop just down the street from where we stay here in Serbia. We have free Nescafe at home, which I’d actually prefer over this mediocre cappuccino I ordered because I couldn’t read anything else on the menu. It’s smoke-filled and busy, but I enjoy the random company.
I was confronted with something I didn’t expect the other day when I was literally scrubbing the toilet in our little apartment; I feel at home. I feel alive. It’s not where we stay, the ministry or the country. It’s the community and the lifestyle. It’s the promise of seeking and finding. It’s the excitement of trusting in the Lord and allowing Him complete control of my life. It’s the rest I find in choosing to walk in freedom everyday because the Creator of the Universe is fighting my battles for me.
This is no longer a trip. It’s not just a pause in my life. It has quickly become my actual life.
Today marks halfway on the World Race. Here’s to the second half.
