So there’s this game and you might have heard of it, it’s called what are the odds. If you have played this game then you might have some good and bad memories associated with this game. The way the game is played is as follows:
1. A person asks another individual “what are the odds that you (insert somewhat crazy challenge or dare here)”.
2. The individual gives the odds. Example “1 in 10 odds”.
3. The 2 players count to three and then say a number within the odds (any number 1-10).
4. If the 2 players say the same number then the individual has to complete the challenge or dare, if they say different number then the individual does not have to complete the challenge or dare.
This can be a very exciting game, especially when the stakes are high and the odds are low. During training camp I saw individuals have to everything from eat bugs to licking another persons foot. It was hilarious. Here are some pictures from the game.

I got to thinking, don’t we play this game by ourselves? I find myself wondering what are the odds that I go talk to that person about Jesus? Since I play the game with myself, I can fix the odds in the favor of my flesh or my spirit. Often times I fix the odds in favor of my flesh and then I regret not taking on the challenge. Maybe it’s not us playing with ourselves but it’s us playing with God.
I act like this is a crazy dare when really this is just a calling that God has given me to talk to people about HIM!
God never calls us into anything unless it is His will. When God asks “what are the odds that you will go talk to that person about Me”, we should respond “1-1”. Any odds other than 1-1 is telling God that we do not trust Him.
So my question to you is, what are the odds?
