We are all craving something in life. Some people crave fame, fortune, respect, etc. A craving is something that can be fulfilled not always by getting what you want but getting what you need.

Yesterday I was at a conference where Hillsong United was leading worship. Before they began their worship set, I began to crave food and not just any food but nachos. I saw someone walk by me with the nachos and cheese that is sold at every American sporting event from professional arenas to the little league ball fields and I wanted them. I waited in line for 10 minutes to get my chips and liquid gold when the band began to play.

As I walked to my seat I listened to the band worship the King Jesus. The moment I heard the praise of over 11,000 students I lost my craving for the over priced nachos. My craving had changed when I felt the Holy Spirit, in that moment all I was craving was more of God’s presence! I wanted stadium nachos but I needed the Holy Spirit.

I was worshiping so freely and craving more of God’s Presence. I prayed over my squad’s journey on the world race. The prayer was that same as David’s praying, “Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me”! He can take everything from us on the race, our comfort, our family, our friends, our possessions, but my prayer is that He will not take his presence away from us.

The world doesn’t need more of us, it needs less of us and more of Him.
