What a crazy year that it has been! You know that a lot of people would go on an 11 month missions trip to 11 countries and decide to keep it as the pentacle of their Christian journey, but not me. I am just getting started. The World Race was only a launching pad to help me lift off to new heights. I have changed while I have been on this trip and I can say that God is molding me into the man that He wants me to be. I can’t say no to God, I have seen His faithfulness time and time again when I say yes to His call on my life. For the next season of my life, God is calling me to the G42 Leadership Academy in Mijas, Spain.

Some people might think that I have been gone for a year, why should I leave so soon? Why not spend time with my family and friends? Haven’t I learned enough through all of my experiences with school, being a youth pastor, and doing world missions? The simple answer is, when God calls, I must go. I am not done growing in Christ, I hope that I never stop growing in Christ. I decided when I gave my life to Christ that I would put him first, no matter what. He is the most important thing in my life and I hope that people can tell by looking at my everyday life decisions.

“He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose” — Jim Ellio

While I am at G42, I plan to dig into God’s will for my life of ministry. I want to begin a more long term ministry that I can begin to invest in personally. I believe that God is calling me to do something amazing, I’m just not sure what that is yet. I believe that God has called me to do big things and the calling keeps getting bigger with my faith and obedience.

It is not easy to raise money as a missionary, with that being said, it feels near impossible to raise money for G42 while I am still on the mission field. There is one quote that has always hit me hard about missions and maybe it will do the same to you.

“Go, send, or disobey.” — John Piper

This is John Piper’s view on missions. There are three kinds of Christians when it comes to missions. The first is the ones who go. These are often the ones who are willing and able, the young, the fearless, the ones that are a little bit crazy in a good way. This is the category that I find myself in, I am a goer. I am fully willing to throw myself into things is God calls me. The second category is the senders. These are the people who are planted and they feel that God has called them to be a huge part of missions through giving financially and being prayerful. The senders make it possible for the goers to do the hands on work. The Goers and senders work together, without one, the other would be without cause. Because the senders back the goers, missions happens, the gospel is preached, the starving are fed, the sick are healed, the naked are clothed, chains are broken, and hope is brought to the world. The thing that kills me is that there are many people who fall into the last category of a “mission believing Christian”, they are disobedient. God never said to turn your back on His people. God has called us to missions, you don’t get Christ without His calling. God is calling you to go or to send, don’t be disobedient.
