Blogging is hard for me. Well, writing, in general, is hard for me. You see, it’s not that I don’t enjoy it, I actually really like writing. However, I think so much about what I am writing that it turns into a bigger deal than it really is. See, at this very moment, I am forcing myself to not go back to the beginning of this and start editing. For me, I always take longer to write papers because everything has to be perfect. It has to sound appealing as I am typing. Each sentence has to be flawless before I can move on to the next. Hence, the reason I am so nervous about blogging on the race.

See, I am supposed to blog at least one to two times a week on my upcoming adventure, and that scares the crap out of me more than traveling the world with 45 strangers. What if people don’t understand what I am trying to say? What if I offended someone with my opinion? What if my blog is not long enough, or it’s too long? All of these “what if’s” pop into my head while I am trying to write and it drives me insane. I’m not kidding you, it literally takes me thirty minutes to write a Thank You note, so how the heck am I supposed to write AT LEAST two blogs a week?

Well, my friends, I have come to a conclusion. If God wants me to go on this trip, then He is going to give me the ability to write at least two blogs a week. I have faith that He will provide me with the words people want to hear and the confidence to share my own personal feelings with all of you! So, from here on out, I am going to push myself to blog once a week leading up to my launch date and then two to three times a week while on my race. I know that I may fail some weeks, but that just shows I am human. God is allowing me to see that not everything has to be perfect, heck, it’s actually impossible! So I am going to give Him my worries about something as silly as blogging and see where this journey of sharing takes me!

So, with all of this being said, I want to thank you all for helping me along the way and I hope you enjoy getting to know me on a deeper level over this next year and a half.  Here is to the first of many blogs to come!
