More- This is the word the Lord has given me to describe my Race! The definition? It means in greater quantity, amount, measure, degree, or number. An additional or to further. He has given me more understanding of who he is, a greater quantity of responsibility, a greater amount of his love poured out for me, a greater measure of the life he has given me, to use my gifts and abilities to further the kingdom. A greater degree of character that was built in me, a greater number of people he gave me in order to heal and grow, an additional piece to his mosaic he crafts so perfectly, furthered my horizons by letting me look through his eyes. More of this abundant life he has for us; to live out his calling. In Daring to Hope by Katie Davis Majors, she describes it the best: “It’s about realizing: Real life, large love, doesn’t happen when you arrive in a certain place. It happens when your heart arrives in a certain place. Wherever you are, right where you are, dirt-road [India] or side-street America. When your heart decides to move into God, you are always given what you’re really hoping for: more of God”. I thought I wanted more missions and serving people but, when ministry broke my expectations, it was just me and God. More of him teaching me what ministry actually is and him teaching me along the way what he actually wants from me, to serve him and obey him in whatever the day looks like.

She also says, “Jesus set aside all my original plans and dreams for how I would change communities and lives in [India]. This place and these people, He uses them to change and shape me.” This is exactly how I feel about the Race because we gave up our time to serve but the people I meet always served me in the ways I needed. This week we arrived in a new village and they had the students sing for us and welcome us with dinner at 12:00 p.m. I was so grateful in the ways the made us feel so welcome and the way they sacrificed sleep so that we could have a meal. They get to teach me about their home and culture and invite me in! The Lord provides me with more than I need or even think I want.
