Hey everyone!! I know it’s been a bit since I posted a blog…God has been teaching me so much during this time and I don’t even know where to begin sharing. There’s a lot to process, but I promise I’ll post something soon! For now, I’ve got an announcement!! Our squad is going to Louisiana!! We’re leaving Sunday morning and staying there until the 17th to do hurricane relief work. Our squad will be split into two groups – my team and one of the guy teams will be going to DeRidder. The other four teams will be working in Lake Charles. This will be our first time leaving the AIM Campus to do ministry and we are all so, so excited. Another squad was in DeQuincy, LA this week, and we’ve heard amazing stories of the people they met, work they did, and ministry they were able to participate in. I’m so excited to experience this firsthand!!

The organization we’re going with is called Samaritan’s Purse. They are a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization that works nation and worldwide to spread the love of Jesus and help others. They work with those affected by natural disasters, poverty, famine, disease, war, and poverty. Samaritan’s Purse even sent a group to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to help with cleanup after the derecho (shoutout to my people back home :)!

The focus of our time in Louisiana will be to help homeowners affected by Hurricanes Laura and Delta. We’ll be doing debris cleanup, chainsaw work, roof tarping, and whatever else comes our way. It’s going to be emotionally and physically hard work, but I can’t wait to see how God is moving in DeRidder!

So there’s a little update! I’ve also been sending out weekly text updates to some of my supporters, so let me know if you want to be added to that list! I want to keep you guys in the loop as much as I can. Thanks again for all of your support, and keep an eye out for a blog coming soon about what the Lord is teaching me this week in giving up some of my daily comforts!

Love you all,

Brooklyn
