Being a Christian is extremely hard in Nepal. Although it is not illegal to be a Christian, it’s still seen as a bad thing that divides families and is not wanted in Nepal. Nepal is a Hindu and Buddhist country, and if you are Christian you are looked down upon by society. They do not want missionaries to come to Nepal to convert them and take away their culture and what they know.
But we are not here to take away anything from them. We are here to show them the love of Christ and to offer our friendship. I cannot fix anyone, only God can do that with their hearts. I am simply here to love people. I have learned so much from the believers that I have met in Nepal. Their faith is so strong despite their struggles, they don’t question whether or not God is there for them. They don’t have much but yet they can say God is good. They face so much judgement yet continue to worship. They have a passion to share the gospel that is stronger than anyone I’ve ever met. Being in Nepal has taught me so much and has inspired me to never be afraid to keep sharing the gospel. Leaving Nepal is going to be incredibly hard because of all the friendships I have made. I was treated like family and welcomed into my ministry hosts’ Home when I am away from mine and missing my family.
I instantly felt at home and I love the people here so dearly. I may never see the people I have met here again, but they will always hold a special place in my heart and I will never forget them. Soon I’m off to Africa, and I’m ready to see what God is going to do next.
