Hi friends!! welcome to my blog, it feels so weird saying that, I’ve never written a blog before. it feels fitting though, i’m always writing its just that nobody is ever reading it. first off, i have a disclaimer of sorts. my mind is always all over the place and i’m usually thinking about a lot at once so i’m sorry in advance if my blog posts are all over the place, i’m gong to attempt to make them as structured and orderly as possible! also, i’m not sure if i’m allowed to write haha in my posts ( i feel like that’s against writing rules for some reason ) but i laugh a lot and i want to be real with you guys so if i’m typing and laughing i may just have to write haha in there.

Ok! so now that all that’s out of the way, In case you were wondering, i’m Brooke and i’m truly so excited for you guys to get to know me and hopefully me get to know most everyone who might be reading this! I’m born and raised in Georgia and i love living here. I’m the perfect distance away from both the beach and the mountains, and i spend a lot of my time in both of those places. The ocean has a big part of my heart and time spent there is some of my favorite. I’m a senior in high school and have loved attending my high school for all 4 years, but i’m also so ready to go and experience more. my favorite color is green and i love music, concerts are my favorite. i love Jesus with my whole heart and am constantly growing and changing in pursuit of becoming more like him. Im the oldest out of three kids and my family is the absolute best. I LOVE BOOKS! i really have to many books, so if your looking for a good one…. now you know who to ask. my favorite one as of right now is “The Magic Strings Of Frankie Presto” by Mitch Albom, but CS Lewis is my favorite author. if you ever see me with headphones in i’m definitely listening to the lumineers. I love taking pictures!! printing out pictures from cvs and developing my film might be my most favorite thing… maybe. so that’s me in a nutshell, i hope you feel like you know me a little bit better 🙂

i also want to share with you about what the world race gap year is and why I’ve decided to do it. For a general overview, the world race gap year is an amazing program that sends Jesus loving people aged 18-20 to three different continents over 9 months to live as disciples and be the hands and feet of Jesus in un-reached places. I will be living in Swaziland, Thailand and Nicaragua each for around 3 months. while we are in those countries, we will be doing all sorts of things to further the kingdom!!! sooo, you might be wondering, why am i leaving for almost a year to go be a missionary instead of heading straight to college, the route most seniors will be taking next year? well, the answer is pretty simple. I love Jesus and am sooo SO passionate about making people feel loved and reminding people of their worth as a son/daughter of the king of the universe himself. and that’s why i’m going. because Jesus has called me to go, and out of obedience and love i’m answering his call with an open heart and a big yes! Jesus has called all his followers to spread his message and the amazing news of who he is. he tells us in Matthew 28:19-20, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit, and teaching them to obey everything i have commanded you. And surely i am with you always, to the very end of the age.” that verse has been a big comforter for me while I’ve been wrestling with this crazy calling and idea but now a reality of leaving home for 9 months to live in foreign places with people i don’t know, relying solely on God. Jesus tells me surely i am always with you, and with Jesus by my side i can surely trust that he will provide and comfort me during this trip like he always has and always will. my heart is overflowing with excitement and gratitude and so many emotions while heading into this journey and while right now, September 2019 seems so far off, time is going to fly by and before i know it, me and my team will be on the plane to Swaziland.

i cant really put into words how blessed i feel that this is something i get to be apart of, and i’m so happy all of you can be apart of it to!!! with all this being said, i have a pretty big fundraising amount of $16,600 to raise. That seems like a big number, and it is, but we serve a big God and $16,600 is nothing to him. he promises to provide and i’m so eager to see how he will work through people and multiply money to get me fully funded and able to go and serve his people. by praying and donating, your investing in the people of Swaziland, Thailand and Nicaragua and your sending me out to go further the kingdom! if your feeling led to donate, any amount at all helps. there are a few different ways to donate. i think the easiest way would be to simply click the “donate” link at the top of the blog and from there you can choose either a one time, monthly or annual donation! anther way is with checks and money orders. they must be made out to Adventures in Missions with my name in the memo line. you can send them to Adventure in Missions PO box 74570 Atlanta, GA 30374-2570. the last way is through my venmo account which is @brookelibby. as well as donations, prayers for this season of preparing, for the people who we will be witnessing to and serving, for my team, for safety and for everything in between would be so so appreciated. i cant do this alone and i need all the help and support i can get from all you guys! thank you, thank you, thank you.

if you want to stay updated with my journey and all things world race related, i’ll be posting on here pretty frequently and you can subscribe to this blog! thank you a million times over for taking your time to read what i have to say! Lots of love from me to you, Brooke <3
