The race has officially started! We made it through our first long travel day of 48 hours, and have started to settle in here in South Africa. Thank you for all the messages and comments saying that you are praying for us, we greatly appreciate the prayers and defiantly need them, but please stop praying for safety! We don’t serve a safe God and I don’t want to! God hasn’t called me to live a life of safety and I don’t believe He called you to one either. He calls us to leave the safety of our comfort zone to proclaim His name. Like when He called Jonah to Nineva to spread His love and when Jonah tried to run God literally sent a whale to eat him then spit him out in Nineva, or when He sent Daniel into an actual lions den in order to demonstrate His goodness, I don’t know about you but that doesn’t sound very safe to me. There so many more examples of God calling people out of safety but He ALWAYS protects them, because He is our great protecter and defender! So please pray that we are pushed outside of the safety of the easy and comfortable and into the unsafe, awkward, difficult conversations and places that will bring glory to His name. So please pray for an unsafe, difficult, but protected month of serving the Lord in South Africa!
