We might not have reached every person in Changloon but the families we did reach we’re greatly impacted!
The moms were looking for healthier ways to punish their kids instead of hitting them. They were open with their lives and asked questions about health. They also saw that we had the same love as our contact and his family. The love of God.
The kids we picked up before kindy had giant smiles on their faces in the morning and sad to leave afterwards whereas they didn’t care before either way. The kindy is picking up a new ways of teaching. The children’s English and behavior was greatly improved after three weeks. I personally helped teach an almost two year old learn to jump and say simple words in English, the teacher was very impressed. !
English class had such a great atmosphere and the kids never wanted to stop learning! They absorbed everything Ashley was saying and more!
The family. As wonderful as they were when we got there, their attitudes never faulted. We loved on them and tired them and probably frustrated them as well but their spirits never gave way! They always wanted to know more about us and make sure we felt at home. They spoiled us! Most of all, they showed us that real families still do exists and interact as they use to in the US many many years ago. They gave me hope once again and I am forever grateful for that!
Up until the last couple days I felt as though my team had done a great job in Malaysia but I never knew the impact. At the last women’s talk night, one of the moms was saying how Bavadarin started to come home and talk in English. But what stook out most was that he would write his numbers or letters and then say to himself “good boy!” I saw the mom get a little emotional. Although her kid was shy and didn’t like us at all on the first day, Leanne and Emily found a way to reach him and inpact his life.
This is how Changloon will change to follow Christ and Christ alone. Threw this family. Threw the helpers God sends. Threw the children of this nation. Threw Christ!
