The ministry that my team and I were given seems easy.
We are living with our contact and his family. He and his wife have three kids. We live in a small city and help with the kids programs. The mom started a kindergarten school so Emily, Leanne and I go teach kindy in the mornings on the weekdays. The youngest child is just shy of two years old. They are all very smart. They are learning there second language (English) and are better than the kids I’ve seen back home… sorry America lol! While us three are teaching Kindy, Alex and Tommy are doing the manly chores/jobs. They are in the process of making gates for the stairs at kindy. I don’t know much about it but it looks like they are doing a great job and are having fun in the process. Now that leaves Ashley and Natalie with “nothing” to do during the day. ßthis is a lie. They teach English class at night and need to put together lesson plans. Like I said earlier, these kids are smart!
Now, you might be thinking “when do you do ministry?” and “How is that hard?” The ministry we are helping with is very new and is trying to get in good standing with the people in their community. What better way than to show them love and that they are here only to help!? Also, we aren’t allowed to go out and minister to people on the streets or else we will be thrown in jail… for life.
So what my team and I have been struggling with is this:
Aren’t we on the race to teach about God?
How are we impacting this nation if we can’t talk about God?
Are we doing any good here?
I have my own opinion about these questions but I want to hear what your thoughts are! So please leave a comment with your thoughts! I want to hear from you!!
