A common theme with-in the World Race community is to joke about the lack of information we are given. They do prepare us by telling us to leave our expectations behind, be flexible and open to change, and especially how God will work in our lives.

I have only been in Guatemala for about a day and a half, and already, all of the things I mentioned above have proven to be true. But there is something that I wasn’t prepared for, and that is that I would feel this overwhelmingly blessed.

I was prepared to sleep in my tent every night. Take bucket showers (and only rarely). Eat gross food. etc. But God decided to give us some incredible accommodations.

We have been provided the most beautiful home to live in (although 22 “enthusiastic” 18-22 year olds in one small house is a little much). We have surprisingly comfortable beds to sleep on. We have running water. We are able to go to the market and buy delicious foods to eat. And our host is phenomenal.

When we arrived here yesterday, my emotions got the best of me, and I definitely teared up with happiness. I felt overwhelmed with His grace and love.

Louis (our host) is an amazing man, with an on-fire-heart for God. He is a wonderful example of what it really means to TRUST God. I know for me, I say that I trust Him, but the amount of trust that Louis and his wife have in Him, blows my mind!!!

Here in Guatemala, Louis and his wife have a mission to spread the gospel with youth. The way they do this is to provide opportunity for youth to interact with one another in a fun and safe environment; everything from soccer tournaments to small groups and worship nights.

Tomorrow is my first day of “ministry”. Of course the day will end up different than I expect, but as of right now, myself and 3 other people from my squad will be joining Louis starting at 7am to observe him while he teaches “value classes” at local schools. From what I understand, after we observe tomorrow, we will begin preparing lessons that we want to teach the youth.

I am so excited to see what tomorrow brings. As well as the rest of the 3 months we are here in Guatemala!

Love to all reading this post <3 I hope it finds you well!
