Wednesday morning I decided to help Abby at registration. It was good to work with money again, I had missed it. Feeling productive as ever, accepting baby slobber gross money all day from sick patients, it all seemed like a normal day.
Hours prior to starting the morning, michalea gave a morning devotion to the whole clinic on healing. Lol to what God had planned for our team later on in the day.
Fast forward back to sitting at the registration desk, boss man(our nickname for him) came over out of no where. He asked if we could pray for a little girl that was not responding to any tests she had been given over a period of time from different doctors at different hospitals. We said sure, not really knowing what to expect.
Minutes later, this four year old beautiful daughter brought by her mother was in our arms. Not responsive to anything we were saying, couldn’t walk, not really sure if she could hear, her head swollen as if some sort of condition we were unaware of.
Abby and I started praying for healing, in the middle of the office, in front of numerous patients waiting to be registered.
As I placed both hands on her head, I felt something I had never felt before. A tingling in the ends of my finer tips, similar to the feeling you get when an arm or leg falls asleep and you try to wake it up.
I felt her head shrink a little in my hands. When we opened our eyes, her head was a tad smaller then before when she was placed in our arms.
We pulled out the rest of the team from each of their stations and started praying over her again, and again. Then started praying over the mother. We knew God was at work, working something way bigger then ourselves. We knew he wanted to heal this little girl.
“Charley, you want to baptize her?”
“Me? I’ve never done that before but sure” (side note, nickname, well one of many, on the race is charley)I was a little nervous.
Once again the Holy Spirit had a plan that we did not. We looked around for any sort of water resource. An almost empty jug that was used to feed the goats and wash hands was what we were given.
There was just enough water to pour water on her little head.
“I baptize this beautiful girl in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy spirit.” I said shaking with excitement.
Within that hour we had watch her head shrink enough to be noticeably smaller, respond to our voices, and get baptized! We wanted her mother, her and the father to come back the next day so we could continue to pray over them.
Thursday mid morning came. The father showed. They have four kids, three boys and their daughter. She is the only one with these health issues. We prayed over the father and his faith, and again with the mother. We prayed for God to anoint their hands and pray over their little girl for healing.
Jac washed the little girls feet. Prayer after prayer, we decided that just as Jesus did after ever healing in the gospels, to take action. We asked her mother to have her sit up, the little girl GLOWED with a smile that warmed all of our hearts, even boss man. Then we stepped out in faith again, and had her mom hold her up, holding Abby’s hands having her take steps.
She was walking, little by little with her mom holding from the back. We couldn’t believe it!
This little girl 24 hours earlier lay lame in our arms, and now she was almost walking by herself and responding to us!
She is coming back this coming week and we have no doubt she we will be completely walking all by herself when we see them again.
My faith has been incredibly stretched on the race especially when it comes to praying bold prayers, but I love it. I love dying to my own flesh, my own desires and my own will to watch God do his.
Shout out to boss man for stepping in boldness and asking if we could pray for this little girl who was at their house that day, not even on the property at the clinic at the time. He had faith that touched all of us.
Allow your life to be interrupted by what God wants to do in our everyday, allow the Holy Spirit to move in ways you can’t even imagine.
Be bold in your walk with the Lord, fear nothing.
