We often use this cliche when things don’t necessarily go our way, usually in the negative.  Now I’m not going to go into the origins and all that of the phrase (although I may look it up because stuff like that is interesting to me), but I’m thinking that would probably be because of the sour taste.  Personally I like lemons so I feel bad they take the rap when we don’t like things we get, but I digress.

God has blessed me in an amazing and unexpected way.  At first I may have thought it was a “life gives you lemons” moment, but as I prayed about it and praised God for it I saw it for what it was- a squeeze of lemon in my sweet tea (or a blessing from God).

See God has provided me with a vehicle through a dear friend of mine.  They have offered me their SUV/van for free! I’m not an SUV/van type person for a few reasons and most of them quite absurd, but what does that matter when God blesses you with a free vehicle that is in better shape than your own?

It’s a lesson in gratefulness and contentment.  Who knows why God has chosen to give me an SUV for these next few months. For that matter, who knows why God has chosen to give me anything. All I know is sweet tea sure tastes good with a few lemons.

Keep praising HIM!

Through Christ,
Brooke
