Where upon waking you wonder, “Am I dreaming or am I home, because it sure does look like my Ole Kentucky Home?”

It’s okay; the confusion was quickly replaced with reality and excitement! You guys I’m in Ecuador and not only that, this month team ROAR will be doing Unsung Heroes!

“What is Unsung Heroes?” you ask. Basically our team will be traveling around Ecuador this month in search of new ministries and possibly contacts for Adventures in Missions and the World Race. This month will involve a lot of asking God the next step. Constantly seeking Him and following the lead of the Holy Spirit. In five days we shall head out to the coastal city of Guayaquil where we will begin our training and then from there….it is all in God’s hands. I am super excited to see where God leads our team and what ministries He will show us. As of right now we have been asked to stay present with our squad as we have another debrief and UH training.

I’m also really excited to see more of Ecuador. This was one of the countries I was most looking forward to. I really love the story of Jim Elliott and the other four men that gave their lives to spread the Gospel and bring the Light to a dark place. To be in that country is so exciting to me. Personally I would love to visit some of the places they were in or even the Waodani people, but that is all up to God.

For now I am trying to practice this staying present thing. Right now that looks like walks around Quito exploring the city, catching up with squadmates, and enjoying amazing food.

As we are doing debrief and taking time to be refilled with the Holy Spirit would you pray for us? Pray that God would show us the people to contact and places to go and that this would be a month of peace and growth. Also if you have any ideas of contacts anywhere in Ecuador please let us know! You can contact me via comment or the contact link (or if you have it my facebook or email 😉 ).
Thank you all!

Through Christ,
Brooke
