I have been blessed two amazing churches and godly leadership!
Yesterday’s services were both so good and much needed. At Oak Hill Bro. Gary preached about loving God in the Light of eternity and there is a literal Heaven and a literal Hell. One thing he said that stood out was, “God doesn’t send people to Hell; you choose to go there.” Wow, talk about heavy stuff. The thing that got to me the most though was during invitation. No one (myself included) went forward to pray. As he closed invitation, Bro. Gary pointed that out and then asked us if there were people we knew that were unsaved. The rebuke (though not meant that way) was true and my heart was pricked. Why had I not gone forward? There are many that I know now that need Christ and many more that I know I’ll meet over the next year. Why did I not go pray for them? I know I need to pray for the strength and words to speak; why didn’t I?
At the Chapel God directed me to the words of one of the songs during worship. The lines He pointed out to me say
Shine Jesus Shine
Fill this land with the Father’s glory
…
Send forth Your Word, Lord
And let there be light
As I mulled over those words the thought hit me, it is through us as Christians that Jesus shines throughout this world. We need to be as John the Baptist-
He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
John 1:8
So friends and fellow Racers let us bear witness of the Light of Jesus Christ both here and around the world!
