The Open Door
There is an open door before me
What do I see but the most beautiful
It is there waiting for me
But I hear a noise to look behind
There I see all of life’s past joys
Now I hesitate at that door
Torn between the two
I turn from it with all it’s beauty beyond
Trying to return to all the joys I once knew
No matter how hard I try it only hurts
I feel a stirring, a breeze from the forgotten door
I make a choice
Without a glance behind I take the plunge
Trusting my heart to the One
God is has asked me if I am ready to step through that door- across the threshold between familiar and unknown where my heart is exposed and my faith becomes more than words.
“Lord, here am I. I am ready”
