I don’t need your money

I don’t need your money… it’s crazy, I know, we have been doing fundraisers, selling t-shirts, selling chocolate Easter eggs, selling wristbands, selling everything and all I can say right now is I don’t need your money.

God spoke to me and He said “You don’t need money.” I really didn’t understand what God was trying tell me. I said “Lord, we have nine days left until our deadline, we are $5,800 dollars short and you said that I don’t need money?” He said “Yes, you don’t need money, You need love.”

Then He took me to this chapter:

1 Corinthians 13

New International Version (NIV)

13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

What does this chapter have to do with me? Well think about this; God is Love right? Now replace the word love on that chapter and put God in it… amazing right?

All I need is God! We are going to be traveling for 11 months meeting new people in 11 different countries. I need to be full of his love to share it with them and love them too. Because the bible says “It is more blessed to give than to receive”, and I want to give it all for them and for his kingdom.

Times are hard, seasons change, but His love endures for ever.

I lost my mind thinking about all the stuff that needed to be done so we can be ready for the race that I forgot to put my eyes on Him.

All I can say is He is good, He loves me, He is my Father and I trust Him.

I’m not downgrading the importance of fundraising. The fact is without $5,800 more in our account we will not launch on July 3rd. What I am saying is. I could raise every dollar that is required to go on this trip and still never grow in my heart or accomplish the purpose he wants to do in me. Only his love can do that. I don’t need the money. I need His love.

I want you to be part of this adventure. I want God to use YOU to close that $5,800 gap. But its not the money that will change the world. So if God leads you to give, give with Love. The Bible says that we are the body of Christ, we are His feet and we are ready to go!
