I haven’t blogged since my minor freak out over turning 30.  Thankfully I am over that.  Since then however, there has been a lot happening.

The plan was to be in Spain by now, I was going in April.  Again, as usual, God has other plans.  Since being home from the World Race my family has had some struggles, mainly my mom with her health.  I stayed back from Spain in April because my mom had to have a pretty serious back surgery.  Praise God that went well and the recovery has not been as bad as we thought it might be.  During one of the scans for that surgery the doctors noticed something.  She has a growth in her mouth, which she did not think much of but the doctor wanted to get a biopsy.  So over the last 2 weeks we have been waiting to have the biopsy done and get the results back.  Before I go any further I want to say it was negative, PRAISE GOD!  But I did worry for 2 weeks.  Why do we do that to ourselves.  It’s like we just can’t help it.  All these bad, scary thoughts creep in and we just entertain them.  It’s like we forget Who is truly in control and His promise that  “He works all things for the good of those who love Him.”
Since I have been home I have been working with my church in the high school ministry, which I love and I will miss them greatly when I leave.  This last Sunday we talked about Gods faithfulness.  God IS faithful to His Word.  We don’t always understand and we’re not meant to but we must always believe that He is faithful to His word.  He is faithful in His wrath, judgement, forgiveness, grace, mercy and His LOVE.
Some of the AWESOME high schoolers I have been working with, Helping to build a summer camp for inner city kids.
All this to say, I am still going to G42 Leadership Academy in Spain and I will be leaving at the end of June for the July semester which starts July 5.  I am still fundraising.  If you would like to give please got to  http://www.g42leadershipacademy.org/donate  and put my name in the intern spot.  Another way you could give is in sky miles.  I am trying to search for tickets right now and they are not cheap.
Please be in prayer for about supporting me and also please keep my family in your prayers as well.
Thank you!!
Also, in Alabama we had some of the strongest, most destructive tornadoes in history that hit in April.  While me and my family suffered no loss there are many that we know and many more who we don’t know struggling.  I am lucky to be part  of a church who jumps in and does what needs to be done in hard times.  We have been sending out relief teams and taking in donations for those in need. If you would like to send support, Monetary Donations may be mailed to 225 Centerview Dr.  Birmingham, AL.  35216.  Make checks payable to Mountaintop Community Church with “tornado relief” in the memo line.  If you are near by you may also bring donations to the same address.

Pictures from a small town in Alabama, where they lost almost everything.

Please keep those affected by these storms in your prayers.
