God just amazes me. How he cares for all the details in our life. He cares for the things I care for, the small, the big, the ministry and our down time.
This past weekend the girls of Malachi decided to take our off days and go to Greece. We rented a car online and booked a room. So Saturday morning we were off, we had to get from the town we are in into the city to pick up our car. This is when we met A (that’s what I’ll call him), he was our taxi driver. We get in the taxi and head toward the city. He speaks English very well because he used work in Kosovo with the US military. So we were able to talk and get to know him a little. We told him we were volunteers that have been traveling for the last 10 months and that we were just going to Greece on our off days. At that point he had a lot of questions about why we did what we did and how we were able to do it. I was actually a little nervous because I didn’t want to say anything to scare him away. So I just told him that we just wanted to show love to people around the world and help the needy.
We just kept talking and we made it into town, the car place was not where we thought but A found it for us. Once we got there he came in to translate for us and make sure we got what we needed. Then he after we got the car, we needed gas and a map so he came along and showed us where the gas station was, found us a map and payed for it because we ran out of cash and took us to the on ramp of the highway we needed to be on to get to Greece and then walked back to his own car. He didn’t want us to get turned around by dropping him back off. Oh yeh and he gave us 2 of his own cd’s to listen to on the way. Point being this guy was amazing and we would have never gotten to Greece with out him.
We came back from Greece on Sunday night and then Monday morning called A to come and meet us at the rent-a -car, so he came back to get us and take us home. On this trip he asked what was the main point of our trip and I was finally able to tell him that it was about Jesus.
I don’t know what God will do with this encounter but I thank God that he sent him in our path. I love that God uses any and everybody to be a blessing whether they know him or not because God has already written it on their hearts.
“I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God and they will be my people.”
