A while ago I asked if my mom would write a “guest blog” for me, and these are the words my sweet momma had to say. -Britt

When I was asked to write a post for Brittney, my initial reaction is that it would need to be something big. Something that would draw the readers attention and open their hearts to God and all He is doing with these girls. Seven amazing young women of Christ are working day in and day out for His glory and purpose. What could I possibly write about to top that? As I dive into the depth of this journey and see what is on the hearts of each of these girls, I am astounded at the level they are willing to go for Christ’s kingdom. What I didn’t expect to feel, at times, is left out. My daughter is seeking His people, showering them with love and compassion, literally building churches and planting His word in the hearts of others… and I’m sitting on the sidelines.

Wait, what? On the sidelines? What I’ve found during the past few months is that this journey is not just for the Racers. It is an adventure to lead us all out of our comfort zones to further the gospel and share the good news. While God has selected these amazing young women to go into the world and make disciples of the nations, He is calling me to be a witness and a testimony to those around me.
While I love seeing the pictures, posts, and blogs from the girls and how Christ is working in their lives, I am challenged to consider what I am allowing Him to do in mine. Am I seeking to share the gospel? Am I being a witness? Do I live with compassion and grace? Do I shower others with unconditional love? Unfortunately, I fail at showing grace and mercy. I struggle with self and need to seek forgiveness way too often. But, the good news is that He grants grace and allows me to try again.

While I pray daily for exponential growth among this team, I also seek His wisdom for my own journey. I’m asking Christ to move the moms, dads, brothers, sisters, and friends of each Racer. Place the desire to further the kingdom on each heart. Let this be a year of making disciples among the nations but also in our own backyards, work environments, and communities.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19)
