A lot has happened in the months that I haven’t written an update, (my sincerest apologies for that) but I’m still here. I’m still going. And I’m going to update you lighting-fast on my life in bullet-point form.
Since you last heard from me,
- I graduated from College with a BSN. (Cap, gown, the whole shebang.)
- I moved back home. (God bless my parents and the state of Michigan.)
- I started working as a licensed RN in the emergency department. (Very adult of me.)
- I went to training camp. (Praise God for the other crazy/amazing/faithful people doing this adventure with me.)
- I resigned from said job in the ER. (Bittersweet. I loved it and learned a lot but priority now is getting ready to Race.)
- I met my $10,000 goal for launch!
I want to say a ~Jurassic~ (if I could put a dinosaur emoticon here I would) sized thank you to everyone who has donated and supported me in this. It is because of you that I am able to leave and start this mission on October 8th, and none of this would be possible without your support and encouragement. God is doing really amazing things through this organization and I’m really blessed to be able to be a part of it this next year.
That being said, I still have a bit to go with fundraising. $10,000 gets me out of the US, but to Race the whole 11 months I have to be fully funded at $18,000. I am currently just under $11,000 which leaves about $7,000 left to be raised. My goal is to be fully funded before launch, so that I don’t have to fundraise while I’m on the field.
While on the race we are required to write about 1 blog post per week, so I promise that moving forward you’ll hear more from me about where I am, what’s going on, and how God is moving across the nations.
I would ask that in this next month you continue to pray for me, and the other 48 members of my squad, as we prepare for a year of surrender to the Lord, and give where you feel led.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, again for everything.
As always, call text or email about any questions that I can answer better in person and I would be happy to do so.
In peace,
Britt
