Wow. What an incredible experience thus far in Guatemala. I was immersed into ministry this week. I've been working for an organization called the God's Child Project whose mission is anti-poverty and that has several properties, each with a different focus. I've been working at two sites: Casa Maria and Casa Jackson. Casa Maria is a hospice for the elderly and most are abandoned because their families can't afford to offer them the care they require. Casa Jackson is a non-profit children's hospital specializing in malnutrtion and family counseling. We will be working in the local hospital next week and with the founder of an organization called Nueva Generacion.
I've created a second blog mostly for pictures since this blog is not picture friendly. I know it isn't super convenient to click a second link but it is the best option for me to share pictures of what I am doing since my facebook is not accessible for everyone. Also, I am praying that the second blog receives more public traffic because I hope to use it as a platform for raising awareness for ministries and non-profits through a raw, media-un-influenced perspective. I will definitely still post on here and this will be my primary blog this year.
