I am about to wrap up my time here in Central America. My team and I though we would sum up a few of our more memorable experiences thus far on the race. None of these experiences would be have happened without you, supporters! Thanks for enriching my life and I hope it makes you smile.
You know you are on the World Race when:
You make up songs about poop.
A meal from McDonald’s is luxury.
Your pet sheep goes missing and you can’t help but wondering if it’s in the mystery meat you had for dinner.
You can fit 27 people in the 15 passenger van.
You have a checklist for using the bathroom: toilet paper, a trash can to throw your toilet paper in, and water to put in the back of the toilet so it will flush.
You show up to church and find out you’re actually supposed to be leading the service.
Each meal of the day consist of a different variation of beans and rice.
You have a secret stash of peanut butter and granola in your bag.
You fall asleep to the lullaby of fighting dogs, honking semi-trucks, and the pumping bass of a latin beat.
Every Hispanic man above the age of 12 likes to practice their English on you as you pass by, “Hello beautiful, where are you going?”
All your facebook pictures are sideways and don’t have captions because you only have enough internet to upload the photos.
You have to trip a circuit breaker to fill up your water supply.
You use barbed wire as a clothesline.
Your stomach has a slight pain and you automatically think amoeba.
You work out just so you can get hot enough to make it through a cold shower.
You have to decide whether the arm pits of your clothing smell worse or better than the laundry detergent.
Having clean feet seems like an unreachable dream.
A shopping spree consists of bargaining in a third world thrift store.
The best form of entertainment is shooting the huge bugs that come in your room with a slingshot.
Each time you get on a public transportation bus you would rather sit in the back and fight motion sickness than sit in the front and see how many almost accidents the bus encounters.
Your drink selection consists of different types of tang that can be mixed in your water bottle.
When your name has changed anywhere from 3 to 10 times in one month: Brittney is Brip-nee, Bree-nee, Vree-nee or Ree-nee.
On a different note I'd like to say thank you to those who responded to help my team mate Emma. I am happy to report she has met her January Deadline exactly today! WHOO HOO!
Lastly, here is a photo of a water fight we had with just a few of our older kids at the Children's Home, La Quinta Esperanza, on our last day with them. Loved living with these guys and hope to see them again one day!

I hope to get more pictures up soon. My computer situation has been resolved and can't wait to share more photos with you all!
Happy New Year!! After a week of layovers in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Korea I should be in Bangkok, Thailand somewhere around the fourth of January! Keep us in your prayers as we travel and God Bless! 2012 is gonna be great!
