Cats out of the bag!
Now you know, I’m moving to Gainesville, Georgia for a year. You would think my little heart would be just about done with adventure, but it’s not. It’s just the beginning! The purpose of this next season is to continue to allow the Lord to use me where He sees fit. These past 9 months have been amazing. I have learned so much about myself, ministry, what it looks like to love and be loved by people, how to relinquish control and depend solely on God, to choose love every time, to trust leadership, and to accept community even when it is uncomfortable.
I expressed to a few of my closest friends that I worried about going home because of the lack of community. Don’t get me wrong, I have friends that love, support, and care about me at home, however, I want to learn from a large community outside of my hometown for a few more months. I’m doing this to find out how to implement my calling elsewhere in life. I’m at a place where I currently need three things in order to continue becoming the person God is calling me to be:
-
Refine my leadership
-
To be discipled
-
Continue to live in community
So without further ado, this is what I am doing for the next year!
Center of Global Action (CGA) is a program designed for those who have done the World Race program or have missionary experience. This season is specifically designed to help me take the things I have learned on The Race and implement them into where the Lord is calling me to. My goal is to do 3 semesters of this program. Each semester is 3-4 months long, and each one focuses on a specific “track.” I will for sure be doing Worship and Story tracks with either Leadership or Mission track as my 3rd.
Worship Track: This year has been partially about learning what God’s heart for man looks like. This track is about continuing that knowledge of God’s heart. It focus on what worship, prayer, and the arts look like; and learn different ways that the body of Christ worships. I will learn how to cultivate worship in different organizations, ministries, or within my own group of friends; while continuing to confidently walk in the giftings that He has given me. I’m excited to explore my giftings in dance and singing.
Story Track: Provides the ability for me to become a real-life storyteller. It will assist me in my writing, blogging, photography, writing articles, and writing books. This will teach me to be able to reach people in different types of ministry or walks of life by sharing my story. I personally have been talking about writing a book about my life, and this would be an opportunity to start that process.
Along with these different tracks I will also be receiving discipleship and participating in bible courses throughout the year, they will help me figure out what ministries that I would like to belong to in the future. In the afternoons I will be involved in an apprenticeship program where I will be receiving training by someone who is already working in the ministries that interest me in the future.
I have to support-raise $10,000 in order to continue this next and vital step in my life that the Lord has called me to, however this time I get stipend some money that I raise towards food, class courses, and housing in Gainesville.
This time I’m going to do something different to support raise.
