Thailand Nursery

Lindsey and I had the opportunity to help out in the nursery for two days. This is what a day looks like in the life of a child in the nursery…

9:00 eat snack
9:15-9:30 sing songs with actions
9:30-10:30 go outside and play
10:30-10:45 come inside and wash hands
10:45-11:30 lunch
11:30-11:45 wash hands, brush teeth and go to the bathroom
11:45-12:00 get ready for nap time and say prayers to their god
12:00-3:00 nap
3:00-3:30 wake up. Everyone gets baby powdered to freshen up and the girls get their hair fixed.
3:30-4:00 snack of milk in a bag and the children start getting picked up
4:00 school is over

One thing about Thailand is that the people are extremely polite and they drill that into the children at a young age. For greeting a person or saying thank-you, you bow your head and have your hands together in front of you. In the preschool, the children are taught to greet the teacher every morning, say thank-you before receiving their snack that is handed out to them, and say thank-you and good-bye to the teachers at the end of the day. That is a lot of hands together and bowing, but it is such a well mannered country!
