“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life.” Psalm 143:8

Every day is a new day. A new day to start afresh. A new day to start over. A new day to choose differently or choose the same. A new day to stop and commit the day to God before doing anything else. A new day to be a blessing to others. A new day to choose joy.

This month we have had a lot of downtime with our schedules. Most of my days start at 10:00am. I have the choice to wake up early and see the sunrise at 6:30 and enjoy a morning run. At ministry I have the choice to be happy and enjoy my work and do it to the best of my ability. I also have the choice to go out of my way and pick up the children and hold their hands and play with them a little bit before we start on our work or quickly during lunch break. I have the choice to pick up and read my Bible instead of watching a movie. I have the choice to go and make use of my time to make my own ministry. On Mondays when we don’t have agriculture we go to the hospital and visit the children’s ward. We’ve also made the effort to meet new neighbours and be more involved with the Swazi people and their life.

God has given us each new day. Will we claim it as our own and make the most of it? To live it to its fullest extent and go to bed with no regrets? To have no afterthoughts of “oh I should’ve done that…” When we give back to God each new day He’s blessed us with, the days become better. The days are more enjoyable. The days have more meaning and significance.

“This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
