No, that’s not where I was going with this blog, but when I think of flying, this chorus pops in my head.
This evening we finally head out on our adventure. We will fly to Panama City. Yes, airplanes are extremely useful modes of transportation. They can take you to places faster and farther and it’s possible to travel the world in a short amount of time. I wonder what the apostle Paul would’ve thought of it. He traveled many places by foot or by ship. Travel days were long and tiring for him. But he did it for the sake of the gospel and bringing God’s kingdom to the unreached. And that’s what our goal is to do too.
Mark 1:9 says “And He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power.” ” The kingdom of God was coming to earth. Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” The kingdom of heaven is here. It’s the Holy Spirit in us. God has entrusted the kingdom to us – wow! How amazing is that? If our squad of 35 some people full of the Holy Spirit enter into a place together ready to bring more of God’s kingdom here on earth, there’s going to be some changes taking place. I’m excited to see God working through us. May His kingdom come, and His will be done here on earth as it is in heaven.
We fly this evening and spend the night in Panama City. Then my team will head out on a long bus ride tomorrow to San Felix where we will be working with a ministry called ICJesus! Please pray for safe traveling mercies. Thank-you for all your support and love in this adventure!
