This is a blog dedicated to two things: Thank you’s and information.
THANK YOU!
Thank you to each and every person who has given a monetary amount, a hand, a word of encouragement, or a prayer. All of these things have made it possible for me to be launch funded and well on my way to being fully funded! An attitude of gratitude is something that I am looking to adopt over the next year on this incredible journey and I can say that it is pretty easy to adopt when I have been showered this far with support. You are all directly impacting the lives of so many on a global level through sending myself, my team, and my squad on the World Race. You are investing into a bank of hope for children, widows, homeless, poor, and the lost to draw from. I listened to an interesting podcast today on a run that put sowing into ministries into perspective for me. Whatever we give or sow God will multiply. He says that if we trust Him in this and let go of certain things (in this case money) we can be given a way of seeing Him work supernaturally. God never asks us to give so He can take away but so He can give something better to us. For example: if a farmer holds onto seeds and doesn’t let go when God is saying put it in the ground – there will be no harvest. When the farmer is obedient and he lets go and puts it in the ground – it will multiply. Thank you for sowing into the harvest time in this season of my life!
INFORMATION
The date that I am leaving Canada is January 5th. I will be in Atlanta for launch and to meet with the rest of my squad and team on January 7th. I am hopeful that my dad will be able to attend launch with me (parents can be invited). As most of you know, my route was changed right before training camp and these are the new countries that I will be in (subject to change and not exact order): Dominican Republic, Haiti, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Malaysia, Thailand, Phillipines, Botswana, Swaziland, and South Africa.
I am working on a few fundraising ideas to continue while I am away. God has been so good and blessed the fundraising I have been doing. I am currently sitting at around $11,500 US (only $7,500 submitted so far) which leaves me with a little under $5,000 left to raise to be fully funded! God presented the number $1,000 to me early in my fundraising and I wasn’t sure what it meant but I understand it now to have been a promise. Each major event that I have done has brought in at least $1,000 – what a miracle considering they have been events where that kind of money was not the expectation (BBQ, yard sale, turkey dinner). I also received 2 spontaneous donations of $1,000 from people who I have never met or am not deeply close with – talk about planting seeds, crazy right!? I am looking to go ahead with asking those on social media and my blog subscription to donate $11 on the 11th via my Support Me tab attached to this blog. It’s merely $1 per country that I will be spending a month in. If you want to make a tax deductible donation please make a cash payment to myself or write a cheque to the Mercy of God Ministries with Brittany Charles World Race in the re: line.
I have some teammates (who you can check out by clicking My Team to your right) who are still fundraising to meet their launch deadlines. I would ask that you prayerfully consider even donating a small amount to them in order to see us all launch together. If you’re feeling super generous in this holly jolly time of year, perhaps you would consider donating $11 to them on the 11th as well?
Thank you once again for all that you have done and continue to do. For those that I won’t see before launch or Christmas – enjoy this beautiful time of year by giving presence to those around you and the Big Guy upstairs (He likes hearing from you too!). Merriest of Christmases and happiest of holidays to each one of you! xx
