Dear friends and family,

It’s now just shy of 2 years since graduating from UC Santa Cruz– woah, time flies! Since graduating in June of 2013, I have been seeking the Lord’s direction and calling for my life. I graduated with a Honors Business Management Economics degree and –not feeling called to the corporate world– I began jumping around from job to job. In doing so I had an incredible amount of freedom to travel and enjoy quality time with friends and family, yet still something was missing. I was longing for something more– something more challenging, more passion driven and more fruitful.

This desire brought me back to something the Lord showed me a few years back. In 2011, I went on my first mission trip to Vicente Guerrero, Mexico. It was this first exposure to missions that truly gave me a heart for people around the world. A year later in 2012, my family and I went on a mission trip to Haiti. It was on this trip that I found God really showing me how broken the world is and how much people need to know and experience His love.

After that second short-term trip and graduating from college, I felt the Lord asking me to fully surrender my life to Him and to trust Him for a longer period of time. I wasn’t sure what that was going to look like, but I knew the Lord had something far beyond my imagination in store for me. During that time, I learned about an 11 month mission trip called The World Race. After looking more into the organization and the mission’s program (as well as encouragement from friends and family) I felt that God was calling me to leave the comforts of home and to serve with Adventures in Missions on The World Race.

The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I are serving in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.

While my squad and I have only been on the field since January, putting us just about 4 months into the race, it’s already been a roller coaster ride. From teaching VBS, to planting churches, to ministering to prostitutes, to serving at an AIDS clinic, to praying healing over a woman who suffered from a stroke and seeing her face transform right in front of my eyes, the Lord is moving all around the world! And it’s such an incredible blessing to be apart of it!

Although the Lord has done absolutely incredible things thus far, I’ve also faced many challenges. From spiritual attacks to physical injury and illness on myself, my team and my squad, the enemy is in full force to stop the good works we’re doing around the world. As we head into Nepal to do relief work post-earthquake, please be in prayer for my team and squad mates! Also, as I prepare for month 5 in Nepal, my greatest challenge currently is my financial support. Like most other missions organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to be fully funded, I need to raise $16,500 (I’m 5,500 away!). This money covers all of my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip. As I continue to take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me in the pursuit to show the love of Christ to people around the world?

Feel free to email me ([email protected]) if you’d like to find out more about what my team and I are doing and follow my journey. And if the Lord has put it on your heart to support me financially please press the Support Me link at the bottom of the page 🙂

Thank you so much for your prayers!

Yours in Christ,

Brittany Locati
