Hey!

Hope your day is going well! I just got finished with training camp this past Friday. It was filled with fun and was both physically and spiritually challenging.

We got to listen to many different speakers and worship our hearts out daily. It was awesome. Hearing the heart behind the expedition route was very confirming that that this is where the Lord has me this next year. Basically they said that we will be acting as the the body of Christ “The Church”, going to these countries encountering the Lord and giving it away to the people we meet. Their hope is that we will find people to disciple in every country and from that get them plugged into a local church, or equip them to start there own church in their community. We will be carrying out The Great Commission:

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

I’m stoked! They also planned the route intentionally so that we are traveling by train, bus, boat or cargo ship from place to place. This will allow us to do ministry even while were are on the road. We could do this on planes and in airports too, but the point is they want us to live missionally. Not just on this trip, but for the rest of our lives. That is very inline with how the Lord has been calling me to live since I was 14. I have always loved praying random people, talking to people on the streets or in my work place and serving others. I have also been blessed to live in a community the last 4 years in Fort Collins that lives this out. I encourage you the next time you go to the store to ask the Lord how you can bless someone and show them the Love of Christ. It could be as simple as smiling at someone, praying for someone, blessing someone financially etc. Its great and the Lord uses it to draw others closer to him and to show them how much he loves them and that they are seen by him. They are never forgotten by him.

Mini camping trip 🙂

Team building stretcher scenario!

We also got to go on a mini backpacking trip for 2 days. We hiked 12 miles on the Appalachian Trail with our packs. This was a sweet time for our team to grow closer together and with the Lord. I got to see all of my teammates finish this challenge and they Rocked it. The Lord sustained them and it was awesome! He also sustained me physically. My hip and back had been hurting a lot these past few weeks and I was very nerves about the physical aspect of things at training camp. I was able to complete the hike and the next day woke up with no pain. Praise God! Earlier in the week we also had a timed run/walk with our packs: 4 miles in 60 mins with a 30lb pack. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to do it because of my hip but was able to finish with time to spare.

We also got to spend the night in many different sleeping situations. One night we “lost” half of our bags at the airport and got to share a tent, a sleeping bag and a mat between two people on a cold night. I never knew Georgia could be cold until this trip. I even had to wear my puffy jacket and beanie. Another night we got the privilege to spend the night in one of our leaders neighborhood. We were in about 5 different yards of his neighbors in our tents. I felt very blessed by his neighbors and it was cool to see the impact that he and his wife had had on there local community. It was like a family in the neighborhood. We had may other field scenarios but theirs too many to tell.

Thank for taking the time to read this. I kinda jumped all over the place so sorry for that. Know that God loves you, he wants to use you every day even at the store, and wants you to know you are seen and know by him. Look up Psalm 139 if you get a chance.

Britt.
