He guys!

So we got to Jordan about 10 days ago. Was crazy to think we were in the Middle East. To get here God helped us raise 4,000 dollars in a little over a week!

The first night we got to spend on the roof of our guest house watching the sunset over Jericho and Jerusalem. I’ve been walking around town and it’s crazy to think that the God of the universe took human form (as Jesus) and was walking on this very ground. It just amazes me that he would do that for us.

We got to serve along side a team of Brazilians, Egyptians, Jordaniond and Iraqis. Many from this team are committed for 5 years, but if you ask them they say it’s for a life time. Many of them are studying Arabic and plan to try and do God’s work in neighboring countries. I have been learning by heating them what it truly means to die to self and serve God. Not to serve him out

The organization we are with is connected to a local church and has so many different programs going on that we’ve been able to help with.

They have a soccer training school for kids. There boys team just won the championship in the league.

They also have a school and a community center where they equip Iraqi and Syrian Refugees with education etc. Refugee children here are not allowed to go to the public school so these centers help continue to prepare their children to go to school in the future.

They also have a furniture recycling shop. Most Refugees when they arrive to Jordan have nothing and this shop helps provide furniture along with teaching them that it’s possible to recycle old things like pallets and tires to build beds, tables, couches etc.

They also have a woman center where women can come and make crafts to sell along with studying the Bible etc. Refugees are allowed to live in Jordan, but many struggle to find jobs and are paid very little for there work. This is one way they can earn money for there families.

The organization lastly delivers food bags, fans etc to families and does house visits. They do this everyday with Refugees that are believers and non believers with the goal of building relationship with them, listening to there stories, encouraging them, praying for them and sharing the good news with them. I have been able too go on a few visits and have learned that many of them are waiting for visas to Australia. Many have lost friends, family and children in the attacks from Isis in there home countries. Many of them moved to keep there children safe and a lot don’t plan on returning to there homes. They are some of the most hospitable, generous and thankful people. I have been blessed to get to know some of them.

This week we will be doing a lot of cleaning organizing etc for the organization we are with. This is very helpful for them since we are only here for a short time. It allows them to continue there work of investing in the people here. So I’m Stoked!

Next week I believe we will be doing more house visits and helping at the different programs.
