So this week I started this thing called “Hit the streets Monday.” So every Monday I will be hitting the streets for an hour or more and just seeing what the Lord wants to do. That could look like talking to people, praying for people, doing prayer walks interceding for people cities etc, blessing people with candy, smiles etc or just hanging with people.
This week I got to spend time in Almaty interceding on the streets. You can tell that people in Almaty are very worried about there appearances and feel like they have to look a certain way to be accepted. I was able to pray that they would know that they are “fearfully and wonderfully made” that they were designed with a purpose in mind and that they are created in Gods image.
I also got to buy this:

I bought the banana to hand to a woman that I had seen outside on the streets. When I got outside she had left. So I was just walking the streets with this banana and was like why not write encouraging Truths on it “that you are fearfully and wonderfully made” and that “God loves you” and share that with who ever I give this banana. So I sat on a park bench and started writing. When I was finished I saw a guy sitting near me and offered him the banana but he wasn’t interested. I offered it to a few other people, but they also weren’t interested. I then had this thought; who ever is willing to take this banana probably is a more open person in general and that God was gonna use this to get this banana to a person who was ready/open to hear his Truth 🙂 so I was walking down the street and ran into this girl in her 20’s she didn’t speak much English, but I was able to communicate that I wanted to give her a free banana. She saw the writing and I was able to explain that I wrote on the banana and that she could have it. She took it with an big smile and said thank you and we both went our separate ways. I trust that the Lords words that were written on that banana impacted her that day and I praise God for what he’s doing in her life. A verse that always encourages me is:
Isaiah 55:10-11
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
It’s an awesome promise from God that when his word is spoken that it will accomplish what He sent it for. Not sure exactly what He had in mind with the words on the Banana, but I know that it will accomplish what He sent it for. I also know that His heart is to pursue her heart and that she would come to know Him and come into the freedom that He brings.
So that’s the first “Hit the streets Monday” and I’m looking forward to this coming Monday and all the other things He’s going to do in-between the Mondays.
