I made it home two weeks ago. Walking off the airplane I could smell Colorado’s fresh air and it was amazing. Ever since I was a kid I always loved the smell of DIA and Colorado’s air. I knew I was home. My family greeted me at the Airport which was great! So thankful for them.
I ended up getting a bad cold the first week back which slowed me down and also made the first few days back challenging and more discouraging than I thought. I was frantically searching for help in many different ways and felt like I needed to hit the ground running or I would sink into a bad place. This wasn’t true though and God reminded me of that. He was like, hey look at your arms “you have floaties to help you that I just gave you, use them you’ll be fine just take a deep breath and start using you floaties.” I was like Oh ya I do have floaties. The Lord had equipped me with different tools throughout the year that I get to use now! After that I was able to calm down and rest knowing that he had equipped me for what was ahead.
The next week I went up to a cabin to debrief the year, spend time with the Lord and ask him for some vision moving forward. I was able to use a family friend’s cabin: Thank You! While up there I was able to go for hikes, read through journals, celebrate what the Lord had done in my life this past year and in the lives of those we met, enjoy the quiet and gets vision moving forward. I believe that without this time set aside to process and just be with the Lord things would look very different. I would recommend anyone coming of the field to take a few days by yourself to debrief the year and spend time with the Lord before jumping back into the business of life. It was well worth it!
So now I can give you guys an update on what some of that vision I got for now is. I feel like the Lord is calling me back to Vail for a season not sure how long that will be. I do know I will be here at least though January and probably though the spring potentially until the fall. I’m excited to see what the Lord has up in the Vail valley for me to be a part of. My focus this month is going to be to invest in family, rest, have fun, and to start getting plugged into the local church here. There is an awesome young adults group here that I was able to go to this last Thursday and I’m excited to continue to plug in there. Next month I will be attending one more thing through the World Race called PSL. It’s basically a final reintegration training where I will see my squad! After that we will see what happens.
Thank you guys so much for your support while I was on the race. I know God used you guys in a mighty ways this year in my life and the lives of those we met! Love yall! I will continue to put updates up as the Lord works here in the states too!
