Before the Race I had never personally experienced (or knew I was experiencing) spiritual warfare. Now that I have witnessed and experienced it, new light has been shed on my faith. I know for a fact that God is real and Satan is too.
I will explain the most recent spiritual warfare after I tell y’all the backstory.
During orientation our host described how Romania, specially the South region, is known as the grave yard for missionaries. Missionaries who recently planted churches would died unexpectedly and when he worked in the Southern area he got a horrible fever within a few days.
As he shared the stories I understood what he was saying but I did not exactly believe him. This all changed the night of September 9th. One of our translator’s family were in an awful car accident. Her father died instantly and her mother and sister are in critical condition. This is spiritual warfare. This is Satan trying to devour God’s goodness. Satan is attempting to stop the translator and her family from trusting and growing in their new relationship with God. One of her sisters literally surrendered her life to God just ten minutes before they received the phone call about the car accident. This is a clear example of how Satan desperately wants us to not have a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father.
Divine Comforter, with the power of Your name, I demand Satan to flee and flee fast from this family. He has no place or right in their household. Satan will not have a chance to lead them astray. Instead, this tragic event will draw them closer to You. The victory is not Satan’s, it is Yours. Amen.
The Missionary grave yard is real; spiritual warfare is real; Satan is real.
Well, guess what Satan! Our God is real and alive too! And He gave us spiritual weapons to use against You. And I hate to break it to you, but these spiritual weapons were designed for personal and communal usage.
“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” -Ephesians 6:10-18
Friends and family, I ask you all to join my squad in prayer for our translator and her family. Pray specifically for peace, strength, and perseverance. Lift them high. Pray against Satan and his evil plans. Call him out. And give praise that our Father is alive and fighting for us.
Thank you!
