I’ve heard stories of believers who God used to bring others to Him. This happens everyday! The thing that scared me though, as I continued to hear these testimonies, was that those same believers that lead people to Christ decided to not live for him anymore as they got older.
This fear is a fear many believers battle, the fear of falling away from faith. Knowing that they can’t live without Christ & fearing that one day, when something bad happens, they will turn away from truth.
I’m bringing this up because this is a fear I have struggled with and am still fighting. The beautiful thing in all of this is that God knew his children(us), would go through this exact thing before we ever began to fear it and provided us with grounding truth.
Romans 8:31-39
“What, then Shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who just justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died – more than that, who has raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as a sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor demons, neither the present nor future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor ANYTHING else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
WOW.
Do you mean that no matter what I do, nothing can separate me from our father?
YES!
There is no need to fear:
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?” Romans 8:35
God is saying there is NOTHING that can separate us from his love.
Friends, we are so blessed to have a God who loves us no matter what. He knew exactly what we would go through so he gave us truth to read and speak to us through.
I am so encouraged today by Romans 8. God knew exactly what I needed to read & exactly when I needed to read it.
I know God has my future in his hands and I can confidently say I cannot live without Christ. Knowing this truth, I can rest without fear and continue living my life for him like I will all the days of my life.
