There are 3 things everyone has in common:
1. We all die someday
2. All know what McDonald’s is (LOL probably not true but I swear there is one everywhere)
3. We all want peace

After being in a lot of different countries with different religions, I’ve noticed something. I’ve noticed that peace is a common theme. In most other religions, People are searching for peace their whole lives. Not knowing that there is something beautiful about our true God. he is peace.

There are many times a day I need peace and if I didn’t know God was peace, I would have gone insane!

Colossians 3:15:
“Let the peace of christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

Hebrews 12:14:
“Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be Holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.”

1 Peter 5:7:
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

1 Peter 3:11:
“They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.”

James 3:18:
“Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.”

Philippians 4:7:
“And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Proverbs 12:20:
“Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil, but those who promote peace have joy.”

Psalm 29:11:
“The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.”

Psalm 34:14:
“Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.”

Psalm 85:8:
“I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people his faithful servants- but let the not turn to folly.”

Isaiah 26:12:
“Lord, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.”

These are a few of MANY versus in the Bible that talk about peace. There is a reason peace is mentioned so many times and I think it’s because it is something all humans crave! People are craving Jesus and don’t even known it.

Life is hard. I know there are times when you’re stressed. Times when you truly don’t even know what to do anymore. Times you just want to be done. Where you want to say screw it and drink alcohol or binge eat. When you want to numb yourself. Because that’s the only thing that you have found brings you “peace”. If you turn to those things, maybe you should ask yourself, “Have I really found Jesus?” “Do I really have a close relationship with God?”
I can’t promise you much, but I can promise you that when you truly find God, when you truly grow in relationship with him, you won’t want anything else in those hard times. You will want what will bring you true peace. An everlasting peace like no other. Jesus.
