Last week we were able to go and share at several high schools, it was really good; on Thursday we piled in the van and headed out to the school.  As we neared our destination I began to hear the Lord whisper “freedomâ€ in my ear and something was stirring in me.  I have been learning over the last two years how the Lord speaks to me and as we all hopped out of the van and waved goodbye to The Van Man I knew that the Lord had given me a message for these students.

They gathered all of the students together, and we decided which of us would speak, Dan and Brittany C. would share a testimony, and I would share a testimony and a “messageâ€.  It was almost time to start but I had to pee.  Ha. Needless to say I ended up making my way to the front right in time to introduce myself to the group.  As my teammates started sharing I got even more excited because the things that Dan and Brittany were talking about went right along with the message I felt compelled to share, it’s cool how the Holy Spirit put similar things on our hearts!  When I got up to speak I noticed the sky growing dark, its rainy season here and rains pertty much everyday.  I know that this may seem odd but I spoke to the sky, “Sky, the Lord has something for the students today, in the name of Jesus we will not be rained out!!â€  We have that authority; remember in Genesis when God gave us authority over the land?  Well I am all about living in the “garden stateâ€!  The sky listened.  I was able to share about my own freedom from darkness, and from the lies of the devil.  I believe that the Lord cares deeply about every one of those students and I found myself filled with such love for them, you guys, I didn’t know them.  The Lord put a love in my heart for them as we rode in a van on our way to them.  I shared out of 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 and Deuteronomy 30:19-20 about freedom in the Spirit and what that really means for how we live our lives.  When we were all done speaking, there was torrential rainy season downpour.  I believe that the Lord held back the rains that day, because He had freedom for those students!!  Afterward we were able to pray with some of the students; many of them were very open about their stuggles and desires for freedom. We shared with them the power they have against the things that once bound them, and that we can all walk in life abundant.  I don’t preach, but I would preach like that any day!

The beautiful African sky!
