Over the past two weeks or so we have visited several different orphanages, one in particular really struck me, the faces, the sights, the smiles, and I want to share it with you…
We hopped in the back of a pick up truck and headed out, past the colorful trees that Tanzania bears and through the dusty road with which we have become very acquainted. We arrived and entered the gates of the orphanage. We entered what looked like a common room, maybe where the children normally ate, and we proceeded with our program. As I entered the room I knew that I was right where God wanted me to be, I felt at home there. We shared the story of David and Goliath while B.Cox, Justin, and Dan acted out the story for the kids. They did a great job and the kids love it! I went on to share some of my story and how it had been a temptation to let my fears hold me back from what I knew God had for me. We asked if any of them had dreams that they felt like God had given them for their lives. Slowly and timidly they began to answer…
…preacher…
…nurse…
…evangelist…
…pilot…
…cook…
… teacher…
I love dreaming with God. I love sitting down and just asking my Creator “Hey, what do you wanna do? Because the Man is wild. And amid this room of orphans who had already had such hurt in their lives, I believe a sacred thing happened. They were give permission to dream again. There was a hope released, and anticipation in the air of, “I wonder what the Lord will do?!? This is what I LOVE, the message of hope, the message of joy, the message of a Father who will never leave but will always Love His children. As we went on to pray with them and play games I found myself in absolute bliss, there’s something about the kids.
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They’re all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world 🙂
