We had to write a statement of faith for
decipleship…so here’s mine.  It might be a little weird. God is good
🙂

This is my statement of faith…for today at
least.

            God
is…what is God NOT? God is in control of
all and allows all and is all.

God has been my mother and father. Not everyone thinks God can
be a mother
figure but to me He has become the perfect mother and has grown me up in
Him
and He has shown me true joy and continues to reveal to me what true
love looks
like.

            I
believe the bible is a combination of books written by God through the
willing
hands of the people He walked with and spoke to. There have been books
left out of the bible
but the bible we have now is the bible God wants us to have. However I
also believe that God is not done
speaking to His people, so then how can the bible be finished? I believe
God can still speak to us as He did
back in the day. There is no difference
between the homegirls and homeboys of the bible day and us, we sin like
they sinned they
were forgiven just as we are forgiven and they struggled to understand
“Christianity” just as we do. So why
wouldn’t God use us to write His words just as He used them?

            I
am the church. The church is me and any
fellow believers that God places in my life at any given time.

            We
are born inherently evil. We are born in desperate need of a savior. I
was born into sin. The important part is that as a believer I
die completely forgiven.

Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. He was a man, a perfect
man. Without Jesus I believe I would
have no life and no hope. The great
thing about Jesus is that He calls us to be like Him. No, I can never be
perfect but Jesus calls us
to something higher, He was human just like I’m a human but He lived
life right. He is a perfect example of how to live FOR
God and He calls us to do as He does. Jesus is a challenge.

            The
HOOOOOLY Spirit! The healing, prophesying, speaking in tongues,
sprinkling
water HOLLLLLLLY SPIRIT!!!!!! Haha…He is
so much more that the actions He leads people to do. The Holy Spirit is
like my cheerleader, He
leads me to actions and then when I obey He suits up and shows up. When
I’m
done doing what He told me to do and God is getting the glory we cheer
for
Jesus together. I believe He is my
protector and defender and that He communicates my prayers to the
Father. He’s my bff pretty much.

            So
basically I believe that God is not done with His people. He is not done
bringing hope.
