We are here in Isibania and we have gotten settled in nicely. Isisbania is a small town right next to Tanzania (like I can see the border if I walk down the street for fifteen minutes). We are staying a great little house complete with mosquito nets! After a nine-hour bus ride through Kenya we were warmly welcomed here by our host here who is a pastor in a local church. His name is Pastor Abraham and his wife is Jenny, they are a sweet couple who are so excited to have us here. It has been amazing to get to know them and some of the people in the church already. There is a man named Michael from the church staying here at the house with us a guard, he is great and so fun to learn Swahili from! Not to mention the fabulous bucket showers…for real I think I might prefer bucket showers over the average power shower.
Already I have been reminded how much I love this continent and it’s people, and I am so thankful to be back here. I have wanted to be in Kenya for 5 years and I find myself here; walking with it’s people, holding it’s children, and ministering with fellow believers that I didn’t even know existed until 5 days ago. I can’t believe I didn’t know these people until 5 days ago! Needless to say I am excited to be here finally, in my promise land, KENYA.
Over the next three weeks we will be going into schools and speaking to the young people and sharing the gospel as well as addressing cultural issues such as rape, or HIV and answering any questions they may have for us. We also may have the opportunity to go and work with the Massia tribe that is near by. I am so pumped to be here and I am excited to let you know what the Lord does in the next three weeks(Daniel my team leader say, “AMEN!). Please continue praying for Wellspring (my new team) and that we would be diving into community and seeking the Lord on how we can best work together. Thank you all so much for your prayers, it means so much to me to know that there are people back home lifting me and my family here up in prayer.
