“ministry”
before our debrief then holiday time, it was a great week and it has
been an
amazing semester.

This is Mini; we (the clinic crew) met her through Primrose one day in
the
clinic and have really enjoyed visiting with her over the past couple of
weeks. She is very sick; she caught TB in her stomach because she is
HIV
positive. One thing she mentioned to me and the girls was that she
prays
that the Lord would bring her a Christmas tree so that she can have a
real
Christmas for her son. It’s her first Christmas on her own and she had
nothing and no way to buy anything because she too sick to work (that’s
the
problem here it’s a vicious merciless cycle) we were so excited to bring
her a
tree and make ornaments with her and her daughter. She is a believer
and
her daughter is going to start coming to church with us at Ithemba on
Sunday. I know giving someone a Christmas tree may seem odd or out of
place but I believe that that tree ministered her Mini and her daughter
Lorna I
believe every time they look at it they will know how much they are
loved by
the Lord and by His people and that they have not be forgotten and never
will
be.

Minis daughter
at the
clinic! First, there is Primrose. She is the cleaning woman at the
clinic; we help her sweep and mop basically everyday….I LOVE HER! She
is so
crazy and so fun and SO giving. Everyone around knows her, she listens
to
people and does what she can to help or get them help. We make faces at
each other everyday and I show her my dance moves…hopefully she will
teach me
some more moves next semester…:D

lady haha. She is so cheerful and great all the time!! She has so
much going on but still keeps going, everyday when we go in we get a big
Athoria hug even though she is SO tiny haha! I have had some really
great
conversations with her and I am beginning to understand her more and
more, I
look forward to getting to know her better over the next 5 months

Okay I know this is long but I really want to let you guys
know who I am talking about when I say the “clinic crew” or
“we” haha!
This is Andrea. She is an amazing
woman of God, she’s 22 or 20 depending on what Layne tells the
patients…BAHAHA! But for real, before the trip she worked at a
library
and now she works at the clinic. She helps out in the pharmacy a lot,
she
has a true gift of counting pills. She has such a servant heart, she is
quick to help you out and be there for you always. I thank God for her
presence on our ministry team she is one of a kind this one and I’m so
glad
that she will be in Jeffreys with me next year 😀
This is Layne! She is 20
most of the time haha!! She is so good at really getting to know
people. One thing that I have noticed about her over the past 3 months
is
that she is good at breaking down walls…but nicely. God has given her
the gift of being able to listen really well to people always, she is so
great
for reals. She is going to Swaziland
next semester and I am going to miss her SO much but I know that God has
great
things waiting for her there.

year she was working in the clinic, this semester she was able to teach
all how
to be effective there, and to not be afraid of it haha! It is amazing
the
way her and the other clinic crew last year has paved the way for future
teams
to come in. She has taught me so much already about what it means to truly serve and I am excited that she will be one of my leaders next
semester.
