Silence, please. Silence has stuck out as a theme, but more on that later!

First and foremost; we have made it safely to Costa Rica! Our lovely host, Bryan, picked us up from the airport and we headed home. We started ministry the next day at a school in Coronado, about 30 minutes from where we live. We have already learned a lot about the Costa Rican culture; like how time is a bit more flexible here.

We did a workshop about respect for two days in the same school teaching every age (1st-6th grade). We. Had. A. Blast. Working with the kids was a challenge since many of us can’t speak much or any Spanish. But still, we made it work!

After the first day, we got to visit the oldest church in Costa Rica. It was located around the corner (I think) from the school. There are no addresses here, so I have no clue how they just go off of landmarks! It’s impressive, really. Anyways, here a few pictures outside of the church! It was beautiful! As was the amazing weather! It’s rainy season but it doesn’t rain all day. When it’s not raining, it’s sitting around 75ish degrees. I. Love. It.

Later we got to meet Beth, our other host. Bryan and Beth are a bigger blessing than I can even describe. They treat us like their own! We feel so welcomed and part of what they are doing here in Costa Rica.

Our schedule is packed this month! We are super excited for all of the things we get to do with Conexion Ministries while we are here in Costa Rica. Something we have been discussing often is being silent and allowing God to speak into our lives. Though that is a challenge with a packed schedule, it is something my team is trying to be very intentional about.

Here’s a house tour of the Tatum’s beautiful home!

Thank you again for all of your support!

PRAYER REQUEST: it’s rainy season and we are putting on an outdoor event at the end of the month with no backup plan, please pray that it doesn’t rain! Pray for my team and that we serve our hosts well, we really love them. Pray for my hosts, they do so much already and now they have us! Pray for Conexion Ministries, who we are partnering with! They have do an amazing job of loving this community and we want to help out in any way that we can while we are here. Pray for my team as we learn what it means to be silent and listen to God.

Much love,

Brittany
