Malaysia was a good month! So this recap is long overdue but better late than never, right?

We had “ATL” in Malaysia which means that we asked the Lord what we should do and where to go with it. There was a lot of prayer and a lot of cool divine appointments. We worked alongside a ministry that served the women in the streets selling themselves in prostitution as a way of life. The people there were amazing and I loved being able to be a part of something so cool and rewarding.

We were located in Kuala Lumpur which is home to a mall on every corner, no exaggeration. I saw a total of 6 movies that month because of the easy accessibility and the price being about $4 max for a ticket! I loved prayer walking the malls and praying for all the people who came to buy things. Malls can be a dangerous place, you know. If you’re not careful, it’s easy to believe that buying all the things you want will create happiness and fill the hole of emptiness that you may feel. My prayer for the people there was that the things in the mall wasn’t what defined them. They don’t need that makeup to look beautiful, they don’t need that outfit to get attention for love; they need a love that comes straight from God and declares that they are enough

We tried new foods while also getting to have a taste of home with the many western options there. One of our last days we ate out at Johnny Rockets and had bomb milkshakes. Best milkshake on the race by far!

My favorite thing that we did last month was go to the Boiler Room. The Boiler Room is a 24 hour prayer room that you can rent out. Our team rented it out once a week for 10 straight hours. It was an awesome time to pray for loved ones, for the country and for anyone who sent in requests. I got to read an entire book and spend and absorbent amount of time with the Lord. It was awesome how the room offered so many options of ways to connect with God. There was instruments, art supplies, comfy chairs, tables and a world map of post-its to represent prayers for those places. It was super cool how people come in and out of that place and how long it’s been a thing!

Since we were in the city, we lived in a hostel for the month. Our hostel was conveniently located directly above a club. This provided a rockin’ floor and shaking doors until about 3am. Instead of a tour of that, I did a tour of the city and our journey to the Boiler Room one day! Also, we had a debrief at the beginning of this month. During one of our evening worship sessions a squad mate captured this on recording of us singing. So without further a due, this is my Malaysia video with music by X-Squad!

UPDATE: Man, this month flew by! We are halfway done and then we head to our last continent, Africa. Our first stop is Zimbabwe and I’ll be in Bulawayo for the month. Thank you all for the continued prayers and support throughout this journey. It’s been a true blessing to have such a large team of support! Send me any prayer requests!

Much love,
