Wow, I cannot believe I have come to the point where I can call myself a graduate of college! Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Communication Studies. I have so many people who helped me reach the finish line and I am so grateful for all of their support! This could be the last of school ever, but I could also end up going back upon my return from the World Race. We will see where The Lord has me at that point.
Now, summer! I will be starting a part-time summer internship tomorrow and had planned to spend the rest of my summer focusing on the task of fundraising. It has taken a couple of weeks to pray and mentally prepare for this. I had finally come to a point where God had given me the peace that I can do this with His help. I was actually getting excited for this! Then, I got the call I will never forget the morning of May 7th. I was getting ready to walk out the door to go meet with my trainer before I entered my very last day as a college undergrad. My mom called me and said, “Are you sitting down?” I’m practically out of breath telling her that I was running late and heading out. She said, “Well, you’re set. You’re fully funded for your trip!” I felt like my feet were in quicksand, unable to move. I just kept screaming and crying and freaking out! This could not be happening. Just the day before I had a little over $4,000 raised. How did I go from that to over $16,000 overnight? My mom informed me that I had someone donating $12,000! So last week alone, I raised over $13,000! Which puts me at fully funded! PRAISE GOD!!! So, whenever you are pulling a Timothy and doubting God (John 20:24-29), remember that He is absolutely capable. I never would have imagined that this would be the way God had intended for me to have my money raised.
Now what? Sit back and relax? Nah, instead I will continue to raise funds to cover the cost of vaccinations and medicines for this trip; which added up to around $2,000. Upon reaching that goal, I will raise for my team. My trip won’t be the same without them! So, if you haven’t already but have been considering giving, now couldn’t be a better time! I am only $1,500 away from my final goal towards health requirements! Join the team, folks!
