Dear Friends and Family,
I hope this letter finds you well! I am very thankful for the opportunity to share what’s been going on with my life lately! God has been teaching me in many ways not the least of which has been a call towards missions. I was so excited when I found out about an opportunity to join ADVENTURES IN MISSIONS aka “AIM” to go on THE WORLD RACE! The world race is an 11 month journey across the world to 11 different countries! I applied and have now been accepted! I plan to leave for the mission field in July of 2010!
My greatest desire is to help those in need and to show love to the outcast in this world. I’ve discovered that I have a real heart for those less fortunate and a love for those desiring to grow in Christ. I have longed to minister in a place where people are aching with hunger for the gospel! During this trip, I will learn to be a disciple and trained in various areas of the ministry of missions. This trip is sure to be a life altering experience!
While I’m on the world race I will get the chance to abandon everything! I will live out of my backpack! The point of the world race on top of bringing hope to the hopeless and sharing the joy and love of Jesus Christ to those who need it the most is about trusting God to lead you where he wants you to be and for him to supply your needs! I have already learned so much about trusting HIM and just how hard that is for me! 😉
Some of the things I will be doing are building churches, preaching, living in community with locals as well as my teammates, helping the fight against sex trafficking, teaching English, and also playing and loving up on some adorable orphans in countries like Thailand, Haiti, Uganda, Kenya, Dominican Republic, Romania, Turkey, Nepal, Cambodia, Japan, and Greece! We don’t know our actual race route but that’s part of the excitement! Turkey and Dominican Republic have been confirmed though! I will keep you all updated as we get more clues!
I will be able to contact my friends and family only thru my blog on the world race website. I will also get to share pictures and videos on a regular basis! This will be very hard for a rabid texter like me who is used to being in contact with others 24/7 to be disconnected from everything I know! Plus I will miss my family and friends SOOO MUCH! =(
Please help me to help others! I need your love, support, and prayers!! I have to raise $8,000 before I head to boot camp in May! I have to have 60% of my $14,300 in my account before I leave in July! I will also have fees for my international insurance, my gear, and visas. Also, I hope you all have an amazing and beautiful Christmas and get to spend it with those you love! I know this Christmas will be special for me considering hopefully I will be gone next year for the holidays!
