Hello everyone!
First off, happy 4th of July! I hope you all get to celebrate today and have a blast! LET FREEDOM RING! <3
I miss you already…
But…..
It’s my pleasure to let you know that I have packed, said all my goodbyes, cried, laughed, and flown to my launch site. I got into Ft Lauderdale FL last night around 8:20 and I had talked to one of my squad mates about meeting here here since she was flying in early as well. But her flight wasn’t in until like midnight. I sat downstairs for a while but then I finely got the nerve to carry my pack and belongings upstairs to find something to eat. I WAS STARVING!!!
Well, I am super happy I did because as soon as I got up here, I was welcomed by “HEY IS THAT BRITT?!?!” Some of my squad flew out this morning for financial training and I got to spend time with them all last night. It was a blast. There was only 20 of us and our packs took up one section of the airport. It was intense. As we all laid our heads down on our packs and rolled our sleeping mats out, Brittany looks up and noticed there was this huge arch above us. She laughed and said “I feel like we’re living under an overpass!” Ha! So that was my first night sleeping on the world race.
Just hanging out now waiting on Brittany to wake up and trying to decide if I want to go to the beach today/tonight or not. Cabs are expensive and honestly it’s looking like I’m just going to stay here in the airport and be the welcoming commitee for the P-Squad!
I want to tell you all about my flight over here. Earlier yesterday as I was getting ready to leave I just looked at my dad and said I was so thankful for training camp now. Because if I was just leaving behind everything I knew to be with people I didn’t know I would be freaking out right about now. But the fact that thru the tears and goodbye I got to feel comfort from knowing that I was going with some pretty amazing people…
But my first flight I read all of your notes in my book of letters journal and I was sobbing like a baby. Lol. You guys have no idea how much those letters mean to me! And I love you all!
The second flight I got to dry my tears and get pumped up from your encouraging words. Thank you so much for that BTW. =)
I’m going to miss all of you but time will fly by. I love you all and hope you’re doing well…. Leave me a comment back if you don’t care. I would love to hear from you! =0)
